Longwood gained recognition in October 1990 on the national Register of Historic Places for its 30+ buildings dating back to 1873-1926. The LeRue house is one of these historic buildings. Built in 1885 by staircase builder and blacksmith J.S.LeRue. We fell in Love with the craftsman style and charm of this old house and decided it would make a great house for Barbed Wire Brows to expand into. The carriage house is the perfect class and event area and we will be adding an extensive Art Library for the community to enjoy in the near future. The room is also available for meetings and clubs for a very reasonable fee. The first floor of the main house will hold our gallery space and the second floor will space our 2D, sewing, stained glass, and jewelry studios. We plan on offering pottery on the porch in the Spring. We are so excited about this space and its new purpose!

summer sabbatical closing
Barbed wire Brown will be open 9-2 Monday - Friday July 10-14. Then we are taking a month Sabbatical!
The term sabbatical actually is derived from the biblical Sabbath which serves an ancient human need to build periods of rest and rejuvenation into a lifetime.
We will be spending this time seeking renewal, refreshment, inspiration, quiet, and disconnect from the busyness of our daily lives and connecting deeper as a family in Nature.
We look forward God willing to an exciting and creative fall with you. If you do not get our monthly newsletter, sign up today on our blog page barbedwirebrowns.com and you wont miss our class and event list as soon as we announce them! Look for the link on the right of the page asking if you want to receive our newsletter.
We are sorry if our closing brings inconvenience to you in anyway. We feel it essential to prioritize Faith, Family and Simple Slow living before our business and that in turn -we will be a better business in serving our local community! If you need a card or gift we have a few things available at the Wild Hare, just a few doors down from our shop! Happy Summer to you from The Browns!
We will reopen in Mid August with classes, events and ways for you to connect with other creative people in our laidback Historic Longwood Art Studio!
