Winter Events

To sign up for classes email us at barbedwirebrowns@gmail.com with the names and ages (if child) of participants and we will respond with an invoice. Your paid invoice reserves your spot in the class.

January

Kids Canvas Painting Process Art, Sat 7th:



    Ages 5 to 15. 2-3pm, $15 per student. Come and paint process focused acrylic paintings along to the inspiration of classical music.   
 

Weekly Drawing Classes 4:30pm Mondays:



    Drawing lessons for students who want to pursue the discipline of drawing. Ages 10 and up. Bring an 8.5"x 11" drawing sketchbook, all other materials provided. Weekly lessons start January 9th. $15 per day, pay by the month. (you do not have to sign up for all sessions in a month, just reserve your spot with a paid invoice for the days you want to come ahead of time so we can plan for numbers.) Students will learn drawing from observation, shading, composition, and other techniques of drawing from a variety of subjects including still lives, plants, animal photography and more. 

Beginner Watercolor Workshop, Sat. Jan 21st 1-3pm:



    Come and paint a simple botanical watercolor for ultra beginners. Teen and Adult 30$ per student.

February

Continuation of weekly drawing Classes:

    Meets at 4:30pm on Mondays. (See above description under January for details) 

Saturday workshops 1-3pm ages teen and adult:

  • Feb 4th: Jewelry Workshop, $30 per participant


         learn simple jewelry making techniques, earrings and knotted linen cord necklaces
  • Feb 11th: Needle Felting Workshop, $35


       Needle felting uses a special needle to fuse fibers into a stiff form. Come learn the technique of needle felting with wool to make your own colorful pictures to take home. 
  • Feb 18th: Reverse Glass Painting Workshop, $35


         Reverse painting is a process of of painting on a piece of glass then turning the glass and looking through it to view the painting. The things you paint on first will be the top visible layer of the finished painting. It was an art form used in icon painting of the Byzantine Empire, as folk art in Austria, Bavaria, Moravia, Bohemia, and Slovakia in the 19th century. It can also be found in traditions of Romania, China, Japan and India. 

Kids Space Art Class Fri 17th from 7-8pm:



                                    Come and paint space themed art, 15$ per person, ages 5-15
